On April 9, the University Health Network hosted a special event in Toronto that brought together Can-SOLVE CKD researchers, patient partners, and funders from across Southern Ontario.
This forum represented an important opportunity to update our funding partners on the progress of three projects based in Toronto:
- Canadian Glomerulonephritis Registry
- Clinical trials of promising re-purposed drugs for ADPKD
- Adolescent Type 1 Diabetes Cardio-Renal Intervention Trial (AdDIT)

A key focus of the evening was patient engagement, as each project was co-presented by the Project Lead and a Patient Lead. This format served to highlight the many ways in which patients are shaping the design and execution of these projects as active contributors to all aspects of the research process.
